History
Hurricane Animal Boarding and Playground (HAB-P) has been serving Southern Utah since 1995. We were an animal hospital and boarding facility for 12 years. Our staff members are trained in optimum animal health, care, social skill development and training for all pets.
HAB-P decided to exclusively serve the need for Pet Boarding and Sitting in Southern Utah. WE believe pets are members of your family; keeping healthy pets together and ill pets at the veterinarian's offices. However, do not worry; we do have a veterinarian on call 24 hrs a day should your pet need medical attention.
We provide a healthy environment, play, relaxation, and social time for your pet without the fear and threat of having ill animals in the same area. Many boarding facilities are associated with a veterinary hospital. Contagious and life threatening disease and illnesses have passed to healthy pets boarding at veterinary hospitals.
Diet, Prescription/Specialized Diets and Medications:
HAB-P serves Hill's Science Diet dry and canned food. We also add cooked Organic chicken, rice, with vegetables in broth containing NO MSG. We add small amounts just to tantalize and encourage pets to dine as they would at home. If you choose, you may bring your own food. Please package your dog's food and label with your name, pet name, feeding amount, and time of day in order to keep to your schedule. Our staff is trained in specialized diets and preparation, as well as vitamin supplements.
We are happy to accommodate any special requests or administer medications with written permission. All medications need to be in original prescription bottle labeled with instructions for administration and packaged with your name, your pet's name, and your veterinarian's name and phone number.
Envionment:
HAB-P is a social boarding facility; allowing similar size, temperament and energy level dogs to interact and socialize off-leash. Our staff evaluates your pet for social skills, energy level, disposition, and a quick safety evaluation is given prior to your pet joining the group. Your dog may play off-leash and wonder around outside or inside as she or he chooses. Several HAB-P visiting pets in the office commonly greet you. We also accept non-social pets that are not used to other dogs. Socialization is a choice that is determined by you and your pet's needs and desires. Private accommodations are never a problem.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT AGGRESSIVE DOGS WITHOUT SPECIAL RESERVATIONS, INTERVIEW AND AVAILBILTY OF ISOLATED KENNEL.
We have ½ acre with trees, fenced grass areas, swimming pools and individual outside and inside runs and kennels. All pets are tucked away each night in their own beds or one of HAB-P personalized beds inside. Our live-in staff makes sure that they, Go Walking After Midnight as often as needed to keep them clean, comfortable and relaxed with no additional charge. The facility is cleaned and sanitized twice daily. We use no artificial air fresheners to hide or disguise any odors or bacterial growth.

Accomadations:
Kennels, Runs, Private Rooms: HAB-P accommodates all species of animals from Great Dane or other large dogs, to cats, birds, lizards or guinea pigs. There are separate areas and facilities for each species.
K-9 FRIENDS have individual inside sleeping areas; in addition to outside private rest areas and private kennels. We have ½ acre fenced area, and four divided grass fenced areas to enjoy the outside pleasant Southern Utah climate, to say Hi! to their friends, stretch, exercise and run off energy. However, if your pet chooses; they can just lay under the pine trees.
All pets, whether social or privately boarded have access to all areas several times a day with no additional charge.
INDIVIDUAL SWIMMING POOLS are for our water loving friends in their individual runs outside, as well as group pools in the social area. Weather permitting, they can take a dip and splash around. Only HAB-P provides this specialized service in Southern Utah.
When romping and playing dogs can become quite dirty while playing with their friends. Therefore, all K-9 friends that have been visiting for a week, will receive a deodorizing, pulsing massage Bath FREE OF CHARGE prior to pick-up. The trip home will be sweet and pleasant for both you and your pet. Bathing and grooming are available at any time with a discounted charge for K-9 friends staying for less than a week.
CAT FRIENDS have condos to view the outside world through picture windows. They also have use of the Kitty Exercise Room daily at no additional charge. Family groups are allowed to associate together but cats usually prefer to be exclusive and by themselves. We do not allow cats from different families to associate for safety reasons.
BIRDS, LIZARDS, RODENTS, SNAKES OR OTHER ANIMAL FRIENDS board in their own cages or kennels in separated areas. They too receive special love and care like all pets staying at HAB-P. Staff members, volunteers, or Foster Grandparents provide special care. Foster Grandparents are mature individuals who volunteer their time and love. They often visit your pet to play, throw a ball or toy, or be held while watching TV. Everyone benefits from the cuddle time.

Monday-Saturday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Sunday and Holidays 9:00-11:00 AM and 4:00-6:00 PM
After Hour Drop-Off or Pick-Up @ Anytime for an Additional Charge
Our fees are based upon your pet’s overnight visit. On the day, you anticipate picking up your pet, an hourly rate of $3.00 an hour is charged for any pet remaining after the 12:00 noon. This rate will never be greater than that of an overnight stay.

RETAIL SALE, PET DIETS AND ACCESSORIES:
HAB-P sells Hills Science Diets. You can also purchase Hill's Prescription Diets with a prescription from your veterinarian. Private orders if not in stock may be ordered at a discounted rate.
We have a variety of vitamin supplements and over-the-counter medications. We are the major distributor of MISSING LINK and HARRISON BIRD FOOD.
We also carry collars, leashes, toys and a vast selection of other pet items. Just let us know what you would like and we will order it from one of the many companies that specialize in pet items and accessories. All special order must be prepaid.
RESERVATIONS and IMMUNIZATIONS:
Reservations are highly recommended especially during seasonal holidays. We require a major credit card to reserve your pet's accommodations. HAB-P accepts all major card cards. A charge for one night of boarding will be charged to the credit card at the time of reservation. Cancellation notice of 24 hours is required for full refund. Cancellations less than 24 hours before scheduled drop-off will result in a charge for one night boarding applied to your credit card.
We Accept Walk-ins with Availability.
HAB-P requires that all visiting K-9, cat and ferrets are fully vaccinated and immunized as is required by Utah State Law and recommended by the American Veterinarian Association. Current written documentation of your pet's vaccination history is required for admission. HAB-P staff will contact your veterinarian for your pet's immunization history for an additional fee of $10.00. All K-9 visitors are required to have current Bordetella (Kennel Cough) immunizations. If we are unable to contact your veterinarian, we reserve the right to deny admission.
