Aikido does not use force against force, rather uses the opponents energy adding to the energy of our own to neutralize the attack. There is no great strenght needed, ideal for women, smaller person, elderly and someone with physical handicap. Aikido has no kicks or punches, it uses escapes, joint locks and throws. Because its' non-destructive, ethical nature, it has become the core art for P.O.S.T. approved Defensive Tactics for Peace Officers in the State of Utah. Aikido has no competition, therefore one has no pressure to get ready for a turnament, and students practice and advance in their own pace.
